Teen swimmer who drowned in Lake Wylie identified

The teen's body was found in Lake Wylie about an hour after he was reported missing.

TEGA CAY, S.C. — A 16-year-old boy who drowned in Lake Wylie on Monday was identified by York County officials.

Multiple agencies responded to a report of a missing swimmer at Pictairn Park around 4 p.m. Monday. The swimmer, identified as 16-year-old Logan Gurley, was removed from the water around 5 p.m. His body was recovered by the Charlotte Fire Department. Tega Cay police also responded to the lake.
