CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has just released the body camera footage from a deadly police shooting at a Burger King Burger on Beatties Ford Road at I-85 in March.
Danquirs Franklin, 27, was shot and killed by police when officers said he refused to drop his weapon.

Monday, March 25, 2019
9:00 a.m. to 9:02 a.m. | CMPD dispatch receives first 911 call about a man inside Burger King with a gun. The caller tells dispatch the man, later identified as Franklin, walks behind the counter to 'frighten an employee.'
9:01 a.m. - 9:04 a.m. | Second 911 call placed to CMPD dispatch. Caller states someone ran up to her car. The caller said she was in line waiting for her food when she spotted the man in front of her car. The caller said she believed the man had a gun in his sweatpants but stated she never actually saw the gun.
9:02 a.m. | CMPD officers dispatched to the scene.
9:03 a.m. | Officers en route to the scene.
9:04 a.m. | Officers arrive on scene.
Body camera footage from Officer Wende Ker shows CMPD officers commanding Franklin to 'drop his gun' more than 17 times.

4:20 p.m. | CMPD identifies the victim of the shooting as 27-year-old Danquirs Napoleon Franklin.
Monday evening | Members of the Charlotte community hold peaceful protests at CMPD headquarters and Burger King to mourn.
