One student faced non-life-threatening injuries during the crash Tuesday.

STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Statesville Police Department said a student faced non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday after a pickup truck crashed into an Iredell-Statesville School District bus.

Officers said it happened around 3:45 p.m. along East Broad Street near Phillips Lane. The bus was slowing down to make a stop while traveling west on Broad Street when a Ford F-350 towing a large trailer hit the rear of the bus.

Police said the truck driver reported a brake failure, which meant the truck wasn't able to stop in time to avoid the collision.

The student onboard the bus who was hurt was taken to a hospital for treatment.
