CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Fire Department said a two-alarm fire at a restaurant in north Charlotte on Saturday night was accidental.
The fire department said investigators deemed the fire accidental "due to improperly discarded smoking material at a outside smoking area next to the structure."
The fire occurred at a P.F. Chang's restaurant in the 10300 block of Perimeter Parkway near Northlake Mall.
Forty firefighters were able to control the fire in under 45 minutes. According to CFD, employees of the restaurant followed the restaurant's evacuation plan and escorted customers out of the restaurant.
The fire department estimates $10k in damage.
No one was injured in the fire.
