3 people killed, 1 hurt in Charlotte shooting

Authorities ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people have died and another is injured after a shooting in southwest Charlotte early Saturday morning. 

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said four people were injured in a shooting near an apartment complex just after 3 a.m. along Lodge South Circle, just off East Arrowood Road.

Homicide unit detectives are investigating the incident.

Officers found four victims with gunshot wounds after responding to an "assault with a deadly weapon" call for service in the area.

Medic pronounced one victim dead on the scene. Another victim died at the hospital, according to police. It was later confirmed the victims were identified as 26-year-old Walter Humberto Ramos Murillo and 32-year-old Daron Markell Polk.

Officers confirmed a third victim, identified as  25-year-old Nighstarr Trevon Luper, also died from his injuries.

One other person was seriously injured and remains in critical condition, according to Medic and CMPD. 

CMPD is not looking for anyone else related to this investigation, but the department said this case is active and ongoing. 

The police department said CMPD's public affairs office will provide updates if available.
