CMPD making safety preparations ahead of Lovin' Life Music Festival

CMPD is working with the event coordinators, and partner agencies over logistics so they can provide the appropriate security.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the weather heats up in the coming weeks, so does the event calendar and there are a lot of exciting things coming to the Queen City. That includes the multi-day Lovin Life Music Festival, making its debut this year.

Lovin' Life Music Fest is going to be a huge music festival with multiple stages, art, food, and culture.

CMPD says it’s all hands on deck when it comes to planning preps to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The three-day music festival will rock out from May 3 to May 5 and bring some big-time artists like Post Malone, DaBaby, and Stevie Nicks to the stage.

All of this will be happening in Uptown’s First Ward. It is a ticketed event and folks will get a wristband to enter the festival grounds.

There’s also a clear bag policy in effect and any personal bag larger than a clutch won’t be allowed in.

The event has a long list of items that you can’t bring, like umbrellas, chairs, fireworks, weapons, outside food, and alcohol.

CMPD is working with the event coordinators, and partner agencies over logistics so they can provide the appropriate security.

“We want people to be able to come down here enjoy the socialization, listen to this music and do what they like to do,” CMPD Lt Kevin Pietrus said. "We want people to feel comfortable with coming down here and that their safety is going to be looked after."

Festival organizers expect the event to attract thousands of people.

Details are still being worked out but you can surely expect to see more CMPD officers than usual in and around Uptown the weekend of the event.
