CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed in a shooting north of Uptown Charlotte on Wednesday.
The homicide happened on Oaklawn Avenue just east of I-77 just before 4 p.m., according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said a man was found with a gunshot wound in a car that crashed in the area. The car briefly caught on fire at the scene. The man was later pronounced dead.
