CMPD investigating shooting at south Charlotte apartment complex

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the road will be closed as they investigate the area.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after shots were fired at an apartment complex in south Charlotte Friday morning. 

CMPD was called to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of Sharon Oaks Lane, at the Landon Apartments, a few minutes after 3:30 a.m. When officers got to the area, they found an apartment with a bullet hole in the outside wall. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. 

Multiple CMPD vehicles closed the road and several evidence markers were laid on the ground with officers taking photos at the scene.

Witnesses told officers they heard several gunshots but didn't see the shooter. CMPD has not released any suspect information or announced any arrests in connection with the shooting.
