West Charlotte house fire displaces 4 people, 1 dog

Charlotte firefighters extinguished the house fire in about 14 minutes.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Four people and one dog were displaced by a house fire in west Charlotte on Saturday, according to the Charlotte fire Department. 

The fire broke out in a home on the 3800 block of Bristol Drive around 1:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the front door. They controlled the flames in about 14 minutes. 

 The fire was accidental and started in the laundry room, according to Charlotte fire investigators. 

Nobody was reported to be hurt.

The four occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross. 

The fire caused about $35,000 worth of damage to the home.
