CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The first Shake Shack in Charlotte hasn't even opened yet and NBC Charlotte has confirmed a second location is already in the works.
Shake Shack plans to open a second location later this year in Blakeney Village, a Shake Shack public relations representative said.
The grand opening of the first location is set for Thursday at the Park Road Shopping Center.
If you're not familiar with Shake Shack, the restaurant serves up homemade "ShackBurgers" and is famous for its crinkle-cut fries and milkshakes.
Shake Shack serves beer and wines. There will be the house Shack red and house Shack white. They will also serve ShackMeister® Ale, which is golden color, has a bright citrus aroma, with a slight bitterness and bready malt flavor. They will also thoughtfully select local brews tailored to the first Charlotte location. You'll also find Suarez Bakery desserts on the Charlotte menu.
Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan. The cart was very successful, and Shack fans lined up daily for three summers. A nod to Madison Square will be incorporation in the Charlotte décor.
