CHESTER, S.C. — A Chester woman is celebrating after winning $30,000 on a $2 Happy Pawlidays! scratch-off ticket from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
She purchased the scratch-off at the Center Express at 300 Center Street in Chester, South Carolina. That location will receive $300 for selling the winning ticket.

"It kind of scared me," the woman told lottery officials about scratching off the ticket.
Believe it or not, she didn't choose the ticket because of the adorable puppies pictured on the ticket.
"I picked the ticket because it was $2," the woman told lottery officials.
The Happy Pawlidays! game featured six adorable South Carolina pups on them which were chosen through a dog photo contest that happened in the spring 2023. The campaign launched in October 2023.
The odds of the woman winning the top prize were 1 in 480,000.
