Gastonia woman buys $2 lottery ticket, wins the jackpot

After tax withholdings, Tammy Wade took home $155,231.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gastonia woman won big after buying a $2 lottery ticket this week.

Tammy Wade purchased a $2 Break the Bank ticket, considered a Fast Play game, on Sunday from Tom's Family Mart on Stony Point Road in Kings Mountain.

When she bought the ticket, the jackpot was up to $1,085,525. 

The $2 ticket was worth 20%, so she won a $217,105 jackpot. After tax withholdings, Wade took home $155,231.
