Lancaster County lottery ticket hits Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot, SC lottery says

The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the Palmetto Cash 5 game, claiming the 17th jackpot this year.

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Someone in Lancaster County, South Carolina, won a $100,000 treat on Halloween playing the Palmetto Cash 5 lottery game, state officials said. 

The winning ticket was purchased at South 200 Discount Beverages on Great Falls Highway on Halloween. The lucky ticket matched all five numbers drawn on Thursday to become South Carolina's 17th rolling jackpot win. 

The winning numbers were 1 - 15 - 21 - 23 - 27

The jackpot winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Click here for more details on claiming lottery prizes in South Carolina. Lottery officials say the odds of winning the Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668. 

Friday night's drawing is for $100,000. Net proceeds from every dollar spent by South Carolina Education Lottery prayers are returned in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions and payments to contractors, according to the state lottery website.
