CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Mecklenburg County Courthouse was evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat, officials said.
The courthouse was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. while deputies and K9 units conducted a thorough search.
"There has been a bomb threat at the Meck. County Courthouse," Mecklenburg County Sheriff tweeted. "As a result, we have evacuated the courthouse and our deputies and K9 units are now conduction a thorough search."
Traffic was blocked off near the courthouse as deputies investigated.
Shortly before 2:10 p.m. the Mecklenburg County Sheriff tweeted saying they had given the "all clear."
