NEW YORK — A record-breaking December Mega Millions jackpot of $760 million is up for grabs Tuesday, the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever offered in the month of December. The full jackpot as a lump sum cash value of $352.1 million.

The jackpot has been growing since September 10, when it was last won at $810 million in Texas. No ticket matched the recent drawing's winning numbers, though Friday's drawing produced several million-dollar winners.

If won, Tuesday's jackpot would become the eighth largest in Mega Millions history. There's also a historical significance to December 17 drawings: 2013 and 2019 also produced significant wins of $648 million and $375 million, respectively, on December 17.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's drawing were: 56-66-67-68-69 − 18 MegaBall, with 4x MegaPlier.

When a winner matches all five numbers and the Mega Ball, they have the option to take the full jackpot paid out as an annuity over 30 years, or a lump sum cash payout of roughly half the size. Winners almost always take the cash option.

Players who match only the first five numbers win at least $1 million.
