CHARLOTTE, N.C. — So much of what we do relies on satellites, and now, a lot of resources are being used to make sure they stay in orbit.
Let's connect the dots.
Both China and Russia are working on ways to take down satellites by way of missiles and lasers to jammers that disrupt our ability to communicate with anything in orbit.
To help keep our interests safe, the Wall Street Journal reports the United States is investing a lot of money so the Space Force can manage American satellites and anticipate how our enemies might attack us.
Part of this is a strategy called "dynamic space," which will help develop satellites that can avoid threats or act as deterrents to any warfare in space.
This is a very new form of warfare, and the United States remains very secretive about how it could play out.
While leaders are beginning to be more transparent about the threats we face, there is still a lot we don't know about our own capabilities.
