GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Mark Robinson was born and raised in Greensboro, and is currently going to UNCG to be a History Professor.
He works at a furniture manufacturing plant, and says when he went to the city council meeting in Greensboro he wasn't even planning on speaking.
However, when he spoke -- people listened and he was heard around the USA.
He is going viral, after his impassioned plea about a gun show to the City Council has been seen by millions.
The guns in America debate doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, and more and more people are using their voices to speak out.
Sometimes it is students directly affected by the gun violence, other times it is politicians stepping up for one side or another.
Most recently though, an "every man" from Greensboro has been gaining traction with his own fiery comments.
"What I want to know is, when are you all going to start standing up for the majority? And here is who the majority is. I'm the majority. I'm a law abiding citizen whose never shot anybody," said Mark Robinson in front of the Greensboro City Council.
Earlier this week, Mark Robinson made his views known at a City Council meeting -- open to the public to talk about guns.
Robinson is a Greensboro native, and he is studying at UNCG to become a history professor.
Now, his comments are racking up millions of views, and he is gaining a national spotlight that he never expected.
"I really didn't. I thought maybe somebody might play it on the local news, and somebody would see me at work and say I saw you on television, but I had no idea it would turn into what it has turned into," said Robinson.
Robinson says originally he didn't even plan to speak at the meeting, plus he doesn't even own a gun.
"I don't have a lawyer either, but I would hate to wake up tomorrow and find out my right to counsel has been taken away. I'm passionate about the United States constitution," said Robinson.
His voice has meant a lot to people across the country, and their words have meant a lot to him.
"I've never had a chance to make an impact on this many people. I've had people call from all across the country, saying 'thank you,' telling me 'hey, you said what I feel,' and it's just been a very, very humbling experience," said Robinson.
Robinson's goal is for people to stand up for their rights.
He says go to city council meetings, go to vote, and speak up.
This week, he even went on Fox & Friends, and is scheduled to make other appearances next week.
We sat down with him, and he says he never expected this.
