FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Fayetteville Thursday for a campaign event.
Harris will travel to North Carolina and deliver remarks at a campaign event in Fayetteville. Harris last visited Fayetteville in November 2020, just before Biden was elected president.
The time, location and details of the event were not made public, but after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on Saturday in Pennsylvania, security will be tight.
WRAL News spoke with Harold Medlock, a former Fayetteville police chief, about the complexities of providing security for a high-profile visitor. The former chief said there will be snipers on rooftops and K9 units and extra Fayetteville police officers on patrol.
