GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — An 18-year-old student was charged with communicating threats of mass violence in Gaston County.
Police said Jacob Brandon Rhyne threatened students at North Gaston High School in Dallas on Monday. After searching his car on campus, officers said they found a knife and brass knuckles.
Rhyne was taken to jail on $5,000 bond for possession of weapons on state property (public school) and $1 million bond for the threats charge. On Wednesday, bond was reduced to $500,000.
