WHAT WE FOUND:
Not all school IDs are accepted as a form of ID for voting in North Carolina.
“The colleges and universities have to submit a request to the state board to be in an acceptable form of college ID,” Dickerson said.
Several student IDs from schools including Davidson College, Johnson C. Smith, Queens University, and UNC Charlotte are all accepted for this election. There are no high school *student IDs that are being accepted.
However, there are several high schools and lower education in other counties where employees can use their school ID.
“For a student ID, it's most related to a college's. The work ID that you have that are looking for an expiration date those are what we are looking at,” Dickerson said.
