WHAT WE FOUND:

According to the study, researchers analyzed more than 1600 so-called natural personal care products and found most of them contained ingredients that can cause allergic contact dermatitis.

"Contact dermatitis is a really common issue for people, and they develop an itchy rash, Dr. Hong said. It can be scaly, dry, sometimes blistery, that occurs when we come in contact with something our skin is allergic to."

"Many natural products are in the fact that many natural products have well-known irritants or allergens in them, specifically natural oils," Dr. Taylor said.

When it comes to skincare products, Dr. Taylor said the FDA does not approve them before they hit the shelves. She said the best thing to do is look at the ingredients.

"We don't want any natural or synthetically added dyes. Our skin doesn't like fragrance or color," Dr. Taylor said.

Dr. Taylor said to look for the least ingredients possible, and if you really want something that's so-called natural, you can ask your dermatologist before using it.
