CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In just a few weeks, you will be able to head to the polls for early voting. However, do you know where your polling place is?
One viewer was concerned after seeing a post on social media and sent WCNC Charlotte an email asking if her polling place would be the same as last year.
Viewer Jenice sent us a post saying that in spring 2024, ECO Chic, a women's and teens' consignment sale, will be opening at the former Kohl's department store on North Tryon Street.
The building has been a polling place in Mecklenburg County for years.
QUESTION:
Will the old Kohl's on North Tryon Street still be a polling site for the primaries?
THE ANSWER:
Yes, the old Kohl's location on North Tryon Street will be a polling place this year for the primaries.

WHAT WE FOUND:
Dickerson told WCNC Charlotte's Verify team that the building will still host balloting for the primary election.
"We do plan on having that as an early voting site for this March general election," Dickerson said. "Early voting starts the 15th of February."
It turns out that Eco Chic is a pop-up store that will be operating from March 19 to March 24, after voting is complete.
Dickerson said these polling places do sometimes change, but if that happens, the voters in that precinct will be notified.
"On election day itself, I am required to notify the voters of that precinct that their voting location has changed," Dickerson said. "With those, I actually send the voters in that precinct a letter."
He said it's usually the privately-owned locations that change the most.
"If I'm going to a private location, I can not demand it -- the public facility I can demand, which I usually do unless there is a problem," Dickerson said.
North Carolina residents looking to find their polling place can find it through the North Carolina State Board of Elections, and South Carolina residents looking to find their polling place can find it through scVOTES.
