CHARLOTTE, N.C. â A unique event in Charlotte is centered around inclusivity during the solar eclipse, providing a tailored experience for those who are blind or have low vision.
Metrolina Association For The Blind's Eclipse Listening Party is using a tool called LightSound, which was developed with the blind and low vision community in mind. It'll help convert the solar eclipse experience to sound.
LightSound uses a process called sonification to convert variations in light intensity throughout the eclipse into different musical tones.
Through the user of a speaker system, everyone at Monday's event can experience the eclipse together, in a different way.
"This gathering is not just about witnessing a solar eclipse; it's about creating a community experience where everyone, regardless of visual ability, can enjoy the awe-inspiring moments of the eclipse together," the Metrolina Association For The Blind said in a Facebook post.

It'll be held at the Eastway Regional Recreation Center on Eastway Park Drive from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on, and are encouraged to wear sunscreen. There will be a limited number of eclipse glasses at the event as well.
