RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A pair of coaches, two basketball stars and a waterskiier are among the eight people scheduled for induction into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
The class of 2012 was announced Thursday.
Former Wilson Fike football coach Henry Trevathan, ex-North Carolina basketball star Lennie Rosenbluth and championship skier Kristi Overton Johnson will join the hall in ceremonies scheduled for May 9 in Raleigh.
Trevathan led Fike to three state titles from 1967-69. Rosenbluth was the star of the Tar Heels' 1957 NCAA championship team, and Johnson has captured 80 professional titles.
Other inductees are veteran sportswriter Wilt Browning; former Duke and Buffalo Bills running back Wray Carlton; Guilford College and NBA star M.L. Carr; former North Carolina State baseball coach Sam Esposito; and longtime football official Dr. Jerry McGee.
