Another delay for high school football in South Carolina

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The South Carolina High School League has delayed the beginning of the high school football season again.

At an executive session on Wednesday, the SCHSL approved a plan that would push the first games to Sept. 25.

The first practices are now delayed until Sept. 8.

In a previous announcement, the league had practices beginning Aug. 17 and games beginning Sept. 11.

So to recap for HS FB in the Carolinas as of right now.

NC: First practice Sept. 1, first games TBD

SC: First practice Sept. 8, first games Sept. 25

SCHL just made a change today so we will see what NCHSAA does. Gov. Cooper talking today. Usually hear something soon after.

Currently in North Carolina, practices are set to begin Sept. 1, with no set dates for the first football games this fall.
