BRISTOL, Tenn. β Over a decade after hosting a college football game, Bristol Motor Speedway is holding another historic event in 2025 as the Atlanta Braves will play the Cincinnati Reds, Major League Baseball announced.
The Speedway Classic '25 was announced Friday by track and MLB officials, as well as Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee. Braves legend Chipper Jones was joined by Reds great Eric Davis to make the announcement, along with NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Elliott. The game will take place on Aug. 2, 2025.
NASCAR's iconic short track hosted the "Battle at Bristol" featuring Virginia Tech and Tennessee back in 2016, drawing an NCAA record crowd of 156,990 people. The track also hosted a game between East Tennessee State and Western Carolina the next week. Bristol also hosted an NFL exhibition game between Philadelphia and Washington back in 1961.
Tickets will be available for the general public in early December, according to the track's website. Season ticket holders for both clubs, as well as ticket holders for NASCAR Cup Series events at the track will have access to pre-sale tickets starting Sept. 16. Pricing for tickets hasn't been announced.
