Charlotte set to host ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship this weekend

Four of the top six teams in the country will play at American Legion Memorial Stadium starting Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With the ACC fully moved to Charlotte, the league continues to place more championship events in the Queen City.

For the first time ever, the ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship will be played in Charlotte beginning with Friday's semifinals, followed by Sunday's final.

This is the first time since 2019 the league has held a championship event for men's lacrosse, and Charlotte will host the event through 2028.

The games will be played at American Legion Memorial Stadium, just outside of Uptown.

This year's field contains four of the six teams in the country in terms of RPI.

"We're going to get after each other. (Fans) are going to see a fast game, and see a physical game," UVA head coach Lars Tiffany said. "It's really a beautiful confines. You're right on top of the action here. The advanced ticket sales are telling us that the Charlotte lacrosse fan wants to be here and is going to come out and fully support us."

Virginia will play Notre Dame on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by Duke against Syracuse.

The championship game will be played Sunday at Noon.
