CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Catholic soccer remained unbeaten in South Meck 8 play Wednesday, defeating South Mecklenburg 3-1. The Cougars have now won their last three contests by a combined score of 17-2. Oscar Del Pino's squad has rattled off some impressive victories thus far, including wins against Providence Day, Myers Park, and Garinger. The Cougars' only loss is a 2-1 defeat against defending state champions Marvin Ridge.
South Mecklenburg suffered their first loss since a 2-0 defeat August 23 at Charlotte Country Day School. The Sabres are now 3-1 in South Meck 8 games, and will next face Olympic High School on September 22. Charlotte Catholic remains one of the favorites to win the conference, but get a break from South Meck 8 competition when they host Central Academy Saturday, September 20.
