Each week, the WCNC Sports team gets the top highlights and hits from hometown high school football games and tallies up the final scores, getting you caught up on the action under the Friday night lights! Which teams will be tops this week? Check out the game summaries below!
Game of the Week: Northwestern vs. South Pointe
WCNC Charlotte's Friday Night Frenzy Game of the Week is in Football City, USA tonight! Rock Hill Rivals Northwestern and South Pointe clash for a huge game with regional championship implications.
The teams have traded wins back and forth over the last two seasons.
In the first half, the Trojans take the lead 28-10 after quarterback Finley Polk finds and open lane in the end zone and then running back Turbo Richard takes a hand-off and maneuvers his way to the end zone for a touchdown.
During South Pointe's first possession in the second half, RB Aidan Turner scores his first touchdown of the night. But next, Polk drops a dime to Jaylen Burris for a touchdown and the Trojans go for a successful 2-point conversion, giving the Trojans a wider lead at 36-17.
The Stallions continue to fight, but the Trojans ultimately come out on top after South Pointe fumbles a kickoff and Northwestern continues to rack up game points.

Providence Day vs. Rabun Gap
In a battle of two strong teams, the Rabun Gap Eagles travel to face the Providence Day Chargers. Who will prevail? Either way, it won't be an easy battle to win!
Providence Day ranked second in the state in the Max Preps rankings and Rabun Gap, from Georgia, is number one. Neither team has lost up until tonight.
Providence Day was on the board first, but Rabun Gap came back quickly, with their receiver, Trey Horne, scoring three rushing touchdowns in the first half.
Chargers QB Jadyn Davis ran in for a score at the end of the first half to make it 21-7 at halftime, but Horne ran for two more scores, and the Eagles handed Providence Day its first loss of the season.
