South Iredell takes down Providence

In a match that pitted two top 20 teams in the state, the Vikings looked like the better team. South Iredell took the first two sets with relative ease, 25-16 and 25-13.

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- South Iredell hosted Providence High School on Monday in a big non-conference match. The Lady Vikings were able to take the match 3-0.

In a match that pitted two top 20 teams in the state, the Vikings looked like the better team. South Iredell took the first two sets with relative ease, 25-16 and 25-13.

Providence was led in kills by juniors Kendall Bender and Amy DeJuneas(7).

South Iredell moves on to 19-2 and 11-1 in the 4A/3A North Piedmont Conference Standings. With a big conference match against Mooresville on Tuesday, the Vikings need to win their final two games to have a shot at the regular season title.
