Checkers stay unbeaten with 5-2 win in home opener

Charlotte has scored 15 goals in its first three games

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Checkers began their season on the road but wasted no time giving the home fans a show in their first game at Bojangles Coliseum this year.

Charlotte tallied its first goal less than two minutes into its game against the Cleveland Monsters when Will Lockwood found the back of the net.

The Checkers went on to score four more times in a 5-2 win to improve to 3-0-0, and have scored 15 goals across those three contests.

Charlotte hosts Cleveland again Saturday night at 6 p.m., and kids get in for $5.
