Kemba Walker will miss Celtics game

Charlotte point guard Kemba Walker will not join Hornets for Friday night's game at Boston while he tends to a "personal issue," according to the team.

Charlotte point guard Kemba Walker will not join Hornets for Friday night's game at Boston while he tends to a "personal issue," according to the team.

The team says Walker will make Saturday's trip to Atlanta to play against the Hawks.

Walker is averaging a team, and career-best 22.6 points per game, to go along with 5.2 assists, and 1.5 steals. the 26-year old is shooting a career-high 47% from the field and 41% from the beyond the arc, also the best in his six-year career.

Ramon Sessions should start in Walker's absence.

Charlotte is 0-3 on its current road trip, with losses at Cleveland, Indiana and Washington. The Celtics have also lost three in a row.

Despite their recent struggles, the Hornets are still 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and are 1.5 games ahead of the Hawks for first in the Southeast Division.

Charlotte takes on Boston at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday.
