CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Fresh off successful shoulder surgery Carolina Panther Linebacker Luke Kuechly believes he is on track for another fantastic season.
It was in week 17 against Tampa Bay that put his left shoulder out of place, but the injury had no chance of keeping No. 59 out of the playoffs or Super Bowl 50.
"Everything has gone smoothly. Everything is on schedule and we're looking forward to everyone else getting here and starting the OTAs," Kuechly said.
Not exactly wanting surgery in the offseason, Kuechly was convinced by his team of doctors it would be best for the All-Pro going forward.
"In the back of your mind this is something we might have to do, but it's a pretty straightforward thing and Pat Connor (Team Orthopedic Surgeon) did a great job with it," said Kuechly.
The next couple of weeks for Kuechly will be a little different than in years past with less hitting, more rehab.
"Everyday try to get better. Obviously, it's not going to be a full plate like it usually is in the spring. I'm sure some stuff will be dialed back, but I'm talking it one week at a time and when OTAs roll around we'll see what's going on. We'll be good to go."
