CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NASCAR fans will have a plethora of ways to watch races all year long with the sport's next media rights deal.
NASCAR announced the deal on Wednesday, which is set to launch in 2025 and last until 2031. The deal includes four major partners, NBC, Fox, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Most NASCAR Cup Series races will continue to air on NBC Sports and Fox Sports platforms. The first 14 races of the season, including the Busch Light Clash and NASCAR All-Star Race, will appear on either Fox or FS1 and the final 14 races will air on either NBC or the USA Network.
The 10 races in between will be split evenly between Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports. In addition to airing live races, Amazon and TNT will cover all practice and qualifying events for the entire season -- Amazon will cover these events for the first half of the season and TNT will handle coverage for the second half.
“The new broadcast agreements show that NASCAR continues to be powerful property in the sports media landscape, not only on traditional broadcast television, but now with additional streaming and digital platforms," said Marcus Smith, Speedway Motorsports CEO.
Each partner will provide various content for NASCAR fans to look forward to.
Fox Sports
NASCAR has aired on Fox platforms for over 20 years now and will host some of the season's most anticipated races, including the Daytona 500. Additionally, Fox will air the entire NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule on FS1 from 2025 to 2031.
NBC Sports
The final 14 races of the season will air on NBC platforms, which includes the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. NBC Sports has hosted every race of the NASCAR playoffs since 2015.
Select races will also be streamed on Peacock in addition to being on NBC or USA Network.
“We are thrilled that the NASCAR champion will continue to be crowned on our platforms for years to come,” said NBC Sports President Rick Cordella. “Whether it’s the unpredictability of a superspeedway, a Playoff cutoff race, or the championship finale, NBC Sports will use its wide array of platforms to present the dramatic conclusion to every NASCAR season for what will be 17 years at the end of this extension.”
Amazon Prime Video
The five races after Fox's coverage ends will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 2025 to 2031. It will be the first time a NASCAR Cup Series race is exclusively streamed online. The races will be Amazon Prime Video's first live coverage of motorsports.
As mentioned above, Amazon Prime Video will offer coverage of NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying for the first half of each season.
The platform is also working on a NASCAR documentary currently known as "Garage 56."
TNT Sports
NASCAR will return to TNT, a network the two sides previously shared a 32-year partnership with from 1983 to 2014. TNT will air five races after Amazon's run from 2025 to 2031. All five races will be aired on Max with the B/R Sports Add-On. The move will also bring NASCAR content to Bleacher Report.
All NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying events will be streamed on Max for the second half of each season.
The CW Network will air all NASCAR Xfinity Series races from 2025 to 2031.
NASCAR has split coverage between NBC and Fox since 2015. This new deal adds new players to the mix and allows NASCAR to gear toward streaming audiences.
