Richard Petty's 'The King's Hat' statue unveiled at NASCAR Hall of Fame

Richard Petty and family were joined together Monday for the unveiling at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

Richard Petty was joined by his family at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Museum Monday for the unveiling of 'The King's Hat' statue, according to Petty's X account, formerly known as Twitter. 

A large version of his iconic cowboy hat was displayed at the North Wilkesboro Speedway just ahead of All-Star Race Weekend in May. 

NASCAR is unveiling Petty hats at several racetracks throughout the 2024 season as a way to honor 75 years of Petty Racing. Petty is the winningest NASCAR Cup Series champion and has the most wins of any driver at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
