CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets unveiled a new home court that will be used during the NBA's 2023 In-Season Tournament.
Charlotte's in-season tournament court is a deep teal color with gold accents. The free-throw lanes are mind and run the full length of the court. The court has several key design elements:
- A deep teal and gold version of the Hornets' primary logo at midcourt
- A Charlotte wordmark on each baseline opposite team benches
- The phrase "The Hive is Alive" in gold along the sideline at center court
- A Spectrum Center logo outside each three-point line
- A Novant Health logo in front of each bench
The Hornets will play two home games during the group stage, hosting the Miami Heat on Nov. 14 and the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 17. Charlotte could host another home game during the knockout rounds depending on the results of the group stage games. The other teams in Charlotte's group are the New York Knicks and Washington Wizards, who will face the Hornets in road games on Nov. 28 and Nov. 10, respectively.
The NBA's inaugural in-season tournament features all 30 franchises competing for the NBA Cup. Following the four-game group stage, the teams with the best records in all six groups, as well as two "wild cards," will advance to the knockout stage. The quarterfinals will be held at home sites with the semifinals and championship game being held in Las Vegas from Dec. 7-9.
Teams that do not advance to the knockout rounds will play two regular season games on Dec. 6 and Dec. 8.
