CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets re-signed a guard to keep him with his hometown team.
Seth Curry signed a new deal with the Hornets, the team announced on Monday. The terms of Curry's deal were not released by the team, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski states it's a one-year contract.
The Hornets acquired Curry in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks at the NBA trade deadline in February. Curry averaged nine points, two rebounds, and 1.8 assists in his eight games with the Hornets in 2024. His best performance came on Feb. 12 against the Indiana Pacers when he scored 18 points in a Charlotte victory.
Curry missed the last 21 games of the season after suffering an injury. The Hornets waived Curry before the start of the offseason.
The 2024-25 season will be the 12th NBA campaign for Curry, who entered the league after graduating from Duke. Curry, the younger brother of NBA superstar Steph Curry, was a standout basketball player at Charlotte Christian School. The Curry brothers are the sons of Dell Curry, a longtime Charlotte player who now serves as a color commentator on Hornets broadcasts.
Seth Curry has averaged 10.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and two assists in his NBA career.
