CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers will head to Munich, Germany to host a 2024 regular season game, the NFL announced Thursday.
The Panthers are among four teams selected to be "home" teams during the league's international series. The others are the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. Each team's opponent, game date and time haven't yet been announced. Those will be released during the NFL's schedule release this spring.
The Panthers are set to play in Allianz Arena, home of FC Bayern Munich. Tampa Bay defeated Seattle in the league's first-ever Germany game in 2022.
This marks Carolina's second international game. The Panthers defeated Tampa Bay 37-26 in London in 2019.
"It's an honor for the Carolina Panthers to play in Munich in 2024," Panthers owner David Tepper said. "This game represents more than playing internationally for us. With more than 200 German-owned companies in the Charlotte area, this opportunity offers a special connection for the Panthers and our community. We are excited to deepen our relationships with our German fans, engage with our partners, and continue to grow our brand globally."
The Panthers were awarded marketing rights in Germany by the NFL in 2021. Three other teams were also granted marketing rights in Germany: Kansas City, New England and Tampa Bay.
