CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Football star for South Pointe High School in Rock Hill and the South Carolina Gamecocks, Jadeveon Clowney, is visiting with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, per a league source.
The 31-year-old defensive end is a free agent after spending one season with the Baltimore Ravens.
Between his time with the Ravens, Browns, Titans, Seahawks and Texans, Clowney's career includes 52.5 sacks, 9 fumble recoveries, 15 forced fumbles and one interception.
Clowney made the Pro Bowl three straight seasons (2016-18) and was second-team All-Pro in 2016.
After an All-American career at South Carolina, Clowney was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.
At South Pointe, he was the consensus No. 1 player in the nation and named USA TODAY'S "National Defensive Player of the Year," as well as "Mr. Football," in the state of South Carolina.
