CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers are trading away another offensive piece as the team is reportedly trading wide receiver Jonathan Mingo to the Dallas Cowboys.
Mingo was a second-round pick by the Panthers in 2023 but failed to establish himself as part of the receiver rotation. WCNC Charlotte's Nick Carboni reported Tuesday that Mingo's snap percentage dropped from 89% in 2023 to just 56% this season. The second-year receiver failed to score a touchdown during his time in Carolina.
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported the Panthers are getting a fourth-round pick in 2025 in exchange for Mingo and a seventh-round selection next year. This is the second Panthers receiver to be traded, as Diontae Johnson was sent to Baltimore for a pick swap.
This Sunday, the Panthers will face the New York Giants in Munich, Germany. Head coach Dave Canales hasn't announced a starting quarterback despite Bryce Young's solid performance against New Orleans.
