CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers Team President Kristi Coleman has been named the new CEO of Tepper Sports & Entertainment, team owner David Tepper announced Tuesday.
Coleman, who has been with the Panthers for 10 years, was promoted to team president as part of an executive shakeup in 2022. Before that, she served as the Panthers' CFO. As CEO of Tepper Sports, Coleman will oversee the Panthers, Charlotte FC and Bank of America Stadium operations and report directly to owner David Tepper. She will retain her role as Panthers team president.
Charlotte FC president Joe LaBue is stepping down as part of the changes. He will serve as a consultant. The club is replacing the president role with a chief business officer. This person will be responsible for all business operations and will report directly to Coleman.
As team president, Coleman negotiated the Panthers' stadium naming rights extension with Bank of America and led the charge on the team's first training camp in Charlotte. Coleman also represented the Panthers as the leader of the team's $800 million stadium renovation plan that will keep the Panthers in Charlotte for the next 20 years.
“Drawing on more than a decade of experience at this organization, Kristi is a proven leader with the insight and expertise to guide us through this pivotal moment in our evolution,” Tepper said in a press release.
Tepper said the move will help the organization streamline operations in the future. Tepper Sports and Entertainment is expected to announce the hiring of a chief revenue officer in the near future, according to a press release.
