CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Less than a week after the Kansas City Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl, football analysts and sportsbooks are already making their picks for next year's title game.
BetMGM, DraftKings, and ESPN BET, among others, have all put in predictions for the Super Bowl 59 champion. Most sportsbooks claim that the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers will return to the Super Bowl next season and take home the Lombardi Trophy.
Other top contenders for Super Bowl 59, according to the sportsbooks, include the Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Detroit Lions.
The specific placements for each team vary across each sportsbook but all of them have one thing in common -- the Carolina Panthers are at the bottom of the list.
Coming off an NFL-worst 2-15 campaign in 2023 and heading into next season with their third head coach in three years and without a first-round draft pick, the Panthers are not being given much hope to be a contender in 2024.
The Panthers face (+25000) odds of winning Super Bowl 59, according to Fan Duel, Bet MGM, Draft Kings, Caesars Sportsbooks, and ESPN Bet.
Each of these sportsbooks gives the Panthers over +10000 longer odds than the next closest teams, which are the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders, respectively.
The Panthers face the 2024 offseason with new head coach Dave Canales and general manager Dan Morgan. It will be up to them and the rest of the Panthers front office to turn around the team after an abysmal season that saw little to no progress for No. 1 draft pick Bryce Young, Carolina's hopeful quarterback of the future.
