KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Knoxville News Sentinel) -- The Tennessee football team will be wearing its alternate Smokey Grey uniforms for the Music City Bowl game to honor the victims of the Gatlinburg wildfires.

Tennessee football made the announcement Friday on Twitter, writing: "We are wearing our hearts on our sleeves. To honor the victims of the Gatlinburg wildfires, Tennessee will wear the Smokey Grey uniform during the Music City Bowl."

The Vols (8-4) play Nebraska (9-3) on Dec. 30 (TV: ESPN, 3:30 p.m. EST) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Tennessee wore the Smokey Grey uniforms this season when they snapped an 11-game losing streak to Florida at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols debuted the Smokey Gray uniforms in 2013.
