CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis was honored by football writers on Tuesday as the 12th winner of the Good Guy Award.
The award is given each year by the Professional Football Writers of America to an NFL player "for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs."
Thomas is the first Panther to win the award.
Davis started each of the Panthers 16 regular-season games in 2015, recording a career-high 5.5 sacks along with four interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
He was the winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2014.
