Summit to focus on collaborative efforts to make the Queen City sustainable

The summit started in 2018, but went on hiatus during the pandemic.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, the Charlotte Sustainability Summit is returning to the Queen City.

Saturday, people will gather at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City to participate in workshops and discussions with nonprofits and local leaders. It's all in an effort to showcase the ways collaborative sustainable efforts can make a difference in Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Sustainability Summit.

The summit started in 2018, but went on hiatus during the pandemic. 

Sessions focus on topics including sustainable transportation and walkable communities, supporting local food production, addressing air pollution in the state, land conservancy, responsible waste management, water conservation, wildlife conservation, and the importance of public spaces when it comes to sustainability.

The goal is to inform community members on how to make sustainable choices. 

Tickets for the general public are $30, and students can get a discounted ticket for $20 with a student ID.
