GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- One person was killed in an accident in Gaston County Thursday morning.
The accident happened on Highway 16 at Horseshoe Bend Beach Road around 10 a.m. after the car the person was in overturned and caught fire.
Highway Patrol says a car was traveling north on Highway 16 in the right lane when the driver drifted to the left lane, jerked the car back to the right and lost control.
The vehicle overturned several times into a grassy area, and then caught fire.
Officials have not released the identity of the victim killed.
