Crash causes Interstate 485 outer loop in west Charlotte to close for hours

The road is reopen around 1:30 p.m., according to NCDOT.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A crash on Interstate 485 in west Charlotte closed the outer loop for hours Monday, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said. 

Officials responded to the accident on I-485 near West Boulevard. The road reopen around 1:30 p.m., according to NCDOT.

No word on what caused the crash or if anyone is injured at this time. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department asked drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the crash investigation.
