3 kids injured in Burke County school bus crash

Three students were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state troopers said.

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Three students were hurt in a school bus crash in Burke County Thursday morning, state troopers said. 

North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a school bus on Old NC 10 at South Center Street in Hildebran a little before 7:30 a.m. Troopers said the school bus driver was going west on Old NC 10 and failed to yield, leading to the bus getting hit by a 2020 Toyota Corolla.

The bus was from East Burke High School. There were 19 kids on the bus at the time of the crash. Three of those students were taken to the hospital with injuries that aren't life-threatening, according to state troopers. 

The bus driver was cited for failure to yield. The driver of the Toyota was not hurt in the wreck.
