CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A car that was partially hanging off the ledge of a parking deck in Uptown Charlotte was left in neutral, allowing it to roll forward, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. on the sixth floor of a parking deck at the corner of Church Street and Sixth Street near Discovery Place, Charlotte Fire said. Once the vehicle was stabilized, crews were able to pull it from the ledge and safely inside the garage. No one was in the car at the time, officials said.
Charlotte Fire closed the intersection and detoured traffic away from the area. CMPD later said the car was left in neutral and rolled through the wall. Nobody was hurt and there was no structural damage to the parking deck. CMPD also noted this wasn't a criminal incident.
The vehicle was safely towed from the parking deck without further incident.
