CATS bus crash in Uptown sends 6 people to the hospital

The bus collided with a vehicle that was making a turn from the middle lane, according to CATS.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Six people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a CATS bus in Uptown Charlotte on Friday, Medic said. 

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at the corner of North Church Street and West Fifth Street.

A passenger vehicle was making a left turn when the driver cut off the bus and the vehicles collided, according to a statement from CATS. The collision caused minor damage near the bike rack on the bus. All six people taken to the hospital were on the bus, CATS said. 

No further information was made available by the agency or Medic. WCNC Charlotte has reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police for more details.
